“God Helps Me Bible” by Juliet David and Clare Caddy (Illustrator) from Kregel Publications

GOD HELPS ME BIBLE

Specially designed for very young children, the God Helps Me Bible features a spiral binding that allows the book to lay flat on a table, floor, or lap, which leaves little hands free to turn the pages and point out fun details in Clare Caddy’s darling illustrations.

The twenty-five favorite Bible stories use words and concepts tailored for the youngest reader, so each story clearly emphasizes how God loves and helps His world and people.

My Review:

God Helps Me Bible is book of twenty-five stories from the Old and New Testament for children three and up.  It’s noted as unsuitable for children under three. The stories are only two pages long to help keep the attention of the younger child, with two colorful illustrations for each story to engage the child’s interest in the story.

The different characters and their activities are colorful and vibrant.  The differences of today’s dress and dress back then can teach the child different cultures and times.

Some the great attributes of the book include:

  • Spiral bound for laying flat while reading
  • Sturdy card stock paper for long-lasting pages
  • Very vibrant and interesting pictures
  • Teaches the child how God helped people in the Bible
  • Encourages the child to look for ways God helps them/their families
  • Teaches the child ways to thank God for His help to them
  • Repetition of “God Helped…” reinforces the greatness of God

Only thing I would have liked to have seen was a story how Jesus forgives them for their sins.  They are never too young to know why Jesus came.
