Blog Tour and review: “Judgment Day” by Wanda L. Dyson

Suzanne Kidwell–Cable News’ Self-proclaimed Champion of Ethics and Morality!

Judgment Day

Book Blurb:

The weekly cable news show, Judgment Day by Suzanne Kidwell, promises to expose businessmen, religious leaders, and politicians for the lies they tell.  Suzanne positions herself as a champion of ethics and morality with a backbone of steel–until a revelation of her shoddy investigation tactics and creative fact embellishing put her in hot water with her employers, calling her credibility into question and threatening her professional ambitions.

Bitter and angry, Suzanne returns home one day to find Cecelia Forbes, from her dead boyfriend’s office, unconscious on her living room floor.  Before the night is over, Cecelia is dead, Suzanne has blood on her hands, and the police are arresting her for murder.  She needs help to prove her innocence, but her only hope, private investigator Marcus Crisp, is also her ex-fiance–the man she betrayed in college.

Marcus and his partner, Alexandria Fisher-Hawthorne, reluctantly agree to take the case, but they won’t cut Suzanne any slack.  Exposing her lack of ethics and the lives she’s destroyed in her fight for ratings does little to make them think Suzanne is innocent.  But as Marcus digs into the mire of secrets surrounding her enemies, he unveils an alliance well worth killing for.  Now all he has to do is keep Suzanne alive long enough to prove it.

My Review:

On Judgment Day with Suzanne Kidwell, Suzanne Kidwell positions herself as the cable news show’s champion of ethics and morality, wanting to expose corruption among businessmen, religious leaders, and politicians. Her half-baked investigative techniques and creative embellishments get her into trouble, threatening her career.

Her boyfriend is killed in a car accident, Cecilia Forbes from his office is found dead in her apartment, and Suzanne has blood all over her hands when she awakens, and is promptly arrested.

She retains her ex-fiance, Marcus Crisp, and his partner, Alexandria Fisher-Hawthorne, to investigate her case, but they hesitatingly taken her on.

From that point on, Wanda spins a story that has you reeling page after page with threats, bribes, exasperation, wit, and sarcasm to release the tension of the circumstances revolving around Suzanne’s interloping excursions.  I loved to see how Wanda dispersed the romantic tension between Suzanne and Marcus, which had to be exasperating to Alexandria!

Wanda’s story is fast-paced, and holds your attention throughout.  The human dilemmas give the story a very personal touch, giving you time to exhale before the next episode. Her book could easily become a movie or TV series.  It would be realistic, yet clean to watch!

For a first read by Wanda L. Dyson, I’d give it a 5.0 rating!  Intricately woven twisting plots make the book great.  I’ll be checking out her earlier books!
